Educators Credit Union Opens a New High School Branch

On January 28, Educators Credit Union unveiled its newest high school branch at the Academies of Racine Horlick High School. Students at Horlick will have direct access to Educators Credit Union to open an account, make small withdrawals and deposits, use the onsite ATM, and learn how to independently manage their finances.

For over 10 years, Educators Credit Union has partnered with high schools throughout southeastern Wisconsin to implement student-run branches. Through these partnerships, students gain hands-on knowledge of operating a financial cooperative. The students are responsible for running day-to-day branch operations, cash handling, marketing initiatives, and educating members on the products and services offered.

“At Educators Credit Union, we believe in helping young members start off their financial journeys on the right foot,” said Victor Frasher, director of community engagement at Educators Credit Union. “The high school branches give students an opportunity to gain real-world work experience and build strong financial foundations. We are thrilled to have all three academies in Racine operating their own branch of Educators.”

The Horlick High School branch is Educators’ fifth high school branch and the third in the Racine Unified School District.
