If you used Bill Pay with Empower, your payees and recurring payments managed by Empower will be transferred to Educators Bill Pay. You will have access when you log in on January 1. Please note that Educators uses a different payment model. When you schedule your payment, you are choosing the date you would like your payment to arrive, not the date you want the funds to be removed from your account. Any automatic or recurring bill payments you currently have set up will need to be updated by you to reflect the difference in the payment model.

Enroll in eStatements by clicking “Accounts,” “eDocs,” “Settings” and then tap “Subscribe.” To complete the process, you will need to read the eDocs disclosure and enter a code.

Kwik cash and HELOC lines of credit are still accessible to advance through online banking or in-branch.

All accounts and balances will be transferred to Educators Credit Union, and new account numbers will be assigned to your accounts. If you already have an Educators account, it cannot be used as part of the merger, but you can request to consolidate your Educators accounts after the merger is complete.

By December 31, we will be providing you with your new account number and routing number. Please keep this information in a safe place and refrain from using it before January 1.

Starting January 1, you may begin to use your new Educators account number, cards, and checks. Please do not use them prior to January 1 as they will not function before that.

Your current Empower rates will remain the same for all loans or share certificates that are transferred. Variable rate loans may adjust according to the same parameters they did prior to the merger.

All your Empower cards will be functional through December 31. Before December 31, you will receive new equivalent Educators card(s) (debit, ATM, or credit cards), which will become functional on the morning of January 1. If you experience any problems while activating your new Educators card(s), please call us at 800.236.5898.

Feel at ease knowing that we have 24/7 fraud monitoring on all member accounts. Keep in mind that while we may send texts to verify purchases and send one-time codes, we will never ask for your personal information, one-time codes or passwords.

The daily limit on ATM withdrawals is $1,005. The daily limit on PIN transactions is $3,005 or whatever your available account balance is. Otherwise, you may use the credit option up to the available balance in your checking account.

Before December 31, Educators will send you checks free of charge. Do not use these checks until January 1, 2025. Checks written from your current Empower Credit Union checkbook will have six months to clear before they will be returned due to account closure.

Educators Credit Union will transfer all these items to your new account, so you will not need to do anything prior to the merger on January 1. Educators may contact Empower Credit Union members if assistance is needed with moving any electronic transactions from your old account to your new Educators Credit Union account number.

Educators Credit Union will maintain all your existing direct deposits and automatic withdrawals on your behalf for six months. Before those six months end, please make sure to update your employer or vendor with your new Educators account numbers.

To make your transition as easy as possible, automatic loan payment schedules will transfer over seamlessly. You will not need to make any manual adjustments.
