Fresh Start Checking
If you’ve had a checking account closed in the past for non-sufficient funds (NSFs) or other circumstances, our Fresh Start Checking program can help you re-establish a checking account. To receive this checking account, any fees owed on past and closed checking account(s), must be paid in full.
Regular checking account rules apply, in addition to:
Minimum Opening Deposit: $100
One Time Activation Fee: $20
Monthly Account Fees: $10 (if a balance of at least $100 is not maintained during the month)
Monthly Account Fees: $2 (Accounts opened after 1/1/10 that are not signed up for E-statements)
Visa® Debit Card
A Debit Card is available with a $300 daily limit. Deposits at ATMs are restricted. If an account maintains a negative balance for 10 consecutive days or more or has excessive overdrafts, the account will be closed. After 12 months (providing the account does not have excessive overdrafts) you may qualify for a regular checking account and Overdraft Privilege (ODP) (ODP is not available on Fresh Start Checking accounts). See the Checking Account Rules & Disclosures for full information. Other restrictions may apply.
Fresh Start Loyalty Option
By using 3 or more Educators Loyalty Services, your minimum monthly balance requirement will be waived on your Fresh Start Checking account.
