Educators Credit Union has been closely monitoring recent phone/text scams targeting our members.

We’d like to assure you that Educators Credit Union has not been compromised. While we work to stop these scam attempts, our main priority is protecting you and your account.

We have identified two specific scams:

1. Members are being called from a ‘spoofed’ Educators Credit Union number, stating that there is potential fraud from a merchant on their card. (i.e. Target, Walmart, Menards). Shortly thereafter, they receive a text (see below). If answered…the fraudster then requests the CVV. * Please note that it is easy to identify this text as being inauthentic. The text misidentifies Educators as a Federal Credit Union.

2. The member may receive a text message or email asking them to activate either “Apple Pay or Samsung Pay”. (See below).   Educators Credit Union would NEVER need this information over the phone. Once the fraudster has your verification code…they can access from any device.

***Please remember that the only legitimate fraud related call you would ever receive would come from the JHA Card Fraud Center. That phone number is:  800-237-8990 *****

EDUCATORS CREDIT UNION WILL NEVER ASK FOR CVV, PIN, or TOKEN TO VERIFY FRAUD
