New and Improved Points for Perks Website

Educators is thrilled to announce the launch of our new and improved Points for Perks website! The new website features an easier way to redeem your rewards and review account history. Members can access the website through the Card Management widget in Online Banking. All Educators Credit Union members will need to register for the new site.

Although we’ve renovated the website, debit and credit card holders can continue to build points and enjoy the same great rewards.Redeem points for cash back, gift cards, air travel, and even discounts and promotions on Educators products and services.

Debit card “credit” transactions = 1 point for every $2 spent
Credit card “credit” transactions = 1 point for every $1 spent

Points are earned for debit card transactions when the PIN is not used, and accumulated points expire after three years. If you are having trouble registering, please view the tutorial video below.

1Points must be available and used at the time of opening/purchase and the exact quantity indicated to be eligible for the reward.

  1. I registered and went to see what the points needed for gift award, but did not see anything like in past. points=$ amount. It just took me to redeem points

    1. Thank for your question Robert, on the new site cash redemption is available under the Exclusives option.

    2. Is there somewhere that will tell us how much the cash redemption is based on the points? It only asks how many points you want to redeem but how do we know the point to cash ratio?

      1. Thank you for your question, cash redemption is as follows under Exclusives:

        4000 points – $25
        7500 points – $50
        14500 points – $100
        21500 points – $150
        33500 points – $250
        64500 points – $500

    1. Thank you for your question, you will only need to enter one of your cards and the points accumulated from all of your cards will be reflected on the Points For Perks site.

  2. To register my VISA card for Points for Perks, they ask for my account number. Exactly what number do I need to provide? The number has to be long enough. My ECU account number and VISA number only add up to 8 digits!

    1. Thank you for your question Cheryl, while the site says Account Number it is requesting the sixteen digit number on your Educators debit or credit card. If you have multiple cards on your account that qualify for Points for Perks, you only need to register with one of them as the Points for Perks site will reflect all the points your cards have accumulated for your account.

  3. Hello. I feel like I’m following the steps to register on the new Points for Perks website (tried both my VISA debit card and my husband’s), but I keep getting an error message saying “We were unable to validate your account.” Who can I contact to help resolve this issue? Thanks!

    1. Good afternoon Rebecca, if you have a chance can you let us know when you receive the error message? Is it after you enter all of your information or after entering your sixteen digit card number? Thank you for letting us know so we can look at this together.

  4. How to I find and get to the perks for points? I can not find it anywhere now on my account.

    1. Thank you for your question Karen, members can access Points for Perks through the Card Management Widget in Online and Mobile Banking. Select your debit or credit card and one of the options will be a link to the Points for Perks website. When registering on the new website, enter your sixteen digit debit or credit card number where it requests for an account number.

  5. My husband and I have a joint account. We have credit cards with different numbers. Do we need to register both cards, or is it the same as the old perks program?

    1. Thank you for your question Teresa, when you register one of your cards the Points for Perks site will show all of the points accumulated by you and your husband so you will not need to register with the second card.

  6. I tried to do this, could not get it to take. Called the number for customer service and they could not help me. Customer service advised me to contact Educators because I should not have two different numbers.

    1. Hi Vicki,

If you have a chance can you let us know what happens when you enter your sixteen digit card number in for the account number, is there an error message you receive during registration?

      1. Hello, what does the payout option tab do? I understand to get a cash reward we need to go to exclusives, but I put 6000 points into it to see what it does and I still don’t understand.

        1. Thank you for your question, Payout Options should list your current number of points to redeem and all the options available for it. Gift Rewards is always an option under this page if you wanted to share your Points for Perks with another Educators Credit Union member.

  7. I’m registered. Lists my current points, email, even the last four digits of account. When I go to redeem and its asks to login it will not let me do anything from there. Gives me the “The information you provided does not match our records. Please double-check the information you entered and try again.” Every time. Pretty frustrating and it is NOT easier to use then the old version.

    1. Thank you Andrew, if you are still experiencing this issue can you let us know which browser you are currently using?

  8. Hello, when I registered for the Extra Rewards site my information was populated in my profile automatically and it is correct, but it did include my current debit card and a former debit card. I have enough points (4,000) to redeem a $25 reward. When I go to redeem it asks me for my associated email and the last four digits of my card (I cannot enter a 16 digit number anywhere, as I see mentioned in the comments above). Nothing I type in works, even though it exactly matches what Educators populated in my profile. The message I get is: “Notification. The information you provided does not match our records. Please double-check the information you entered and try again.” I called their redemption line but they said they cannot help and directed me back to Educators.

    1. Thank you Amy, can you confirm that you are adding the $25 cash reward to your account and not on the “Gift Rewards” screen? When you log in to Pints for Perks it should welcome you in the upper right hand corner and have the 4 digits that your card number ends in for reference. Please let us know if you are unable to redeem your reward.

    1. Thank you for your question, there is not a separate Points for Perks app but the site can be accessed through Online Banking in the Card Management widget.

  9. Why did you change the site? This new one if garbage! Tried redeeming points and it doesn’t recognize any of my accounts. I’m logged in, I can see my points, but when I try to redeem it asks for the last 4 of my account. I’ve tried all my different savings/credit account numbers and nothing works. Nothing was wrong with the old site. Don’t fix something if it’s not broken!

    1. Thank you Tom, can you confirm that you are not on the “Gift Rewards” screen for your redemption? When you log in to Pints for Perks it should welcome you in the upper right hand corner and have the 4 digits that your card number ends in for reference. Please let us know if you are unable to redeem your reward.

    1. Thank you for your question, once the transaction is completed and no longer pending it should be reflected in your points balance.

  10. I have an account with my husband and I also have a separate account. The old points for perks allowed me to transfer my separate account into our joint account. I don’t see that option anymore. Is transferring to another ECU member still allowed?

    1. Thank you for your question, in the Points for Perks site there is an option to gift your points so they can be shared with a separate account.
