Shred Days Are Back for 2020 With Extra Safety Precautions

We’re thrilled to announce that Educators Credit Union can host Shred Days in 2020! The free community events are a service Educators Credit Union is proud to offer members.

After careful consideration, we are able to host these events safely for our members and staff. They will be outside, in large spaces and most of the boxes will be handled by the professional shred service providing the trucks.

As always, there are some very important rules to follow for the event:

  • Stay in your car at all times for the safety of you and our staff.
  • Please wear a mask or keep your window up when staff are at your car.
  • We will remove the paper from your car, please have it in an easily accessible location that respects social distancing guidelines when possible.
  • There is a limit of five boxes or 100 lbs. of paper per car.
  • We may cancel or postpone an event if the truck fills early or there is inclement weather.
  • Check your boxes beforehand for important documents, such as birth certificates, marriage licenses, or social security cards.
  • Long wait times are common due to the popularity of these events.

    1. Hello,
The location at Mukwonago is in Waukesha County. We tried to add as many locations as we could, but with short notice, limited space availability and other considerations there were some limitations for this year’s events.

    1. Plastic bags will work, but the bags will be returned because they cannot go through the truck. Paper bags work best.
      Thank you!

    1. Thank you for your question, we are only able to accept paper material at the Shred Days. Items with metal like spiral notebooks or binders will not be accepted.

    1. Hello Louise,
We are looking into adding more dates and locations, but cannot promise that any will be added at this time.
      Thank you.

    1. Hello Mary,
Once the paper is put into the truck, it is instantly shredded in the secure container.
      Thank yu!
