The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) and Governor Tony Evers are reminding Badger State residents that the safest place for their money is their financial!
“I’m confident that our financial institutions will be able to deliver necessary financial services to Wisconsinites throughout this pandemic,” said Gov. Evers in a joint release with DFI. “The Federal Reserve has taken several steps since the start of this crisis to boost the economy and to ensure that the system has adequate liquidity.”
Educators Credit Union and other credit unions are insured by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA). They protect up to $250,000 per depositor in your accounts.
In the same release, Gov. Evers and DFI warned Wisconsin residents about scams trying to take advantage of people during these desperate times. To help prepare you against scammers trying to take your information or money, we published a blog earlier this week with some things to watch out for. Please read that for information to keep your money safe.
Additional information is being added to the DFI’s website. Visit its page for the latest details on scams and how it is handing the COVID-19 pandemic.
